The JAAF is thrilled to invite you to a one-of-a-kind international conference, "Modern Challenges and Opportunities for the Apparel Industry," which will take place on 18 February 2025 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Building on the resounding success of our 2018 International Conference, which focused on productivity improvement, disruptive innovation, and leadership, we are thrilled to announce our second global conference in 2025. This year’s event centers on ESG initiatives across the entire apparel value chain and engages a diverse audience, including governments, NGOs, investors, academics, supply chain solution providers, and industry leaders.

With limited seating available, this is your chance to gain invaluable insights from distinguished keynote speakers, including Prof. Mohan Munasinghe (2021 Blue Planet Prize Laureate and Nobel Peace Prize-winning IPCC Vice-Chair) and Ms. Nemanthi Kooragamage (Director Group Sustainable Business, MAS Holdings) and others. The event also features panel discussions, networking opportunities, and interactive workshops on ESG trends, circularity, and sustainable supply chains.

We invite stakeholders across the value chain seeking to understand the latest developments in the ESG and manufacturing nexus to attend the conference at a special reduced rate of LKR 10,000 which includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and a conference dinner preceded by cocktails.

The day’s program offers:

The morning session includes a keynote presentation from distinguished industry experts and thought leaders headed by Professor Mohan Munasinghe. This will be followed by a panel discussion session with industry experts and policymakers chaired by Associate Professor Glen Croy, based on the theme, “Current Actions and their Impact on ESG-Related Outcomes in the Apparel Industry”.

After lunch the afternoon sessions dives into a hands-on workshop led by Professor Jillian MacBryde based on the theme “Shaping the Circular Future We Want for the Sri Lankan Apparel Industry”. This will be followed by a panel discussion session chaired by Professor MacBryde with industry experts and thought leaders on the questions and ideas generated in the workshop.
